Sandra "Sandy" Delaine Fonder age 62, passed peacefully in her sleep on January 31, 2023.  Sandra was born on September 13, 1960 in Boulder, Colorado to Joyce Ann "Jo" Dunning and Sanford Frank "Tunk" Dunning Jr., both of whom preceded her in death.  She is survived by her son William Aelred Fonder and daughter Hannah Marie Fonder, their father James Paul Fonder and his wife Corky, her brother Randall Durst Dunning, his wife Karen, and their four daughters.

Sandra's father "Tunk" was a Captain for United Airlines and her mother "Jo" excelled in sales, specializing in real estate and natural health products.  Sandra's son "Will" is a Texas A&M graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in English and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. He currently teaches in Colorado Springs. Sandra's daughter Hanna is a graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting Performance, and a minor in psychology from Saint Edwards University in Austin. She is a member of the Actor's Equity Association AEA and currently pursuing her art.

Sandra D. Fonder (nee Dunning) graduated from Crystal Lake Central High School in Crystal Lake, IL. She achieved Illinois State Champion in 3A doubles women's tennis. In the same year, she also made it to the state championship in gymnastics vault and was valedictorian of her class. Sandra earned four varsity letters in sports: one in cheerleading, one in gymnastics and two in tennis. She was also a member of the swim team in grade school and junior high.

She became an Associate Certified Ski Instructor with the Central Ski Instructors Association CSIA. Sandra also was an excellent equestrian (both english and western style). In addition, she was accomplished in various forms of dance, music and the performing arts. She danced a beautiful ballet solo and sang a duet love song, with her husband, at her brother Randy's wedding to Karen.

After high school, Sandra attended Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK for two years. She then transferred to the Palmer School of Chiropractic's main campus in Davenport, Iowa. It was there she met her husband. Both becoming Doctors of Chiropractic, they married and opened a successful clinic.  Until disabled by bipolar disorder in mid-life, Sandra succeeded at every endeavor to which she put her hand. Nevertheless, even while struggling with disability, between episodes she worked as a licensed massage therapist. Sandra was a brilliant woman and generous with her time and resources. She maintained several close friendships, encouraging and helping others. Faithful in church even to her last days, she loved the Lord Jesus and prayed God would forgive her many trespasses and help her change her heart in repentance.

Sandy is remembered for the fun family events when she was a pleasure to be around. She could often be counted upon for deep and meaningful conversations. She went from city girl to rancher woman like she was born to it. The family enjoys memories of her being so good with animals. She raised chickens, horses, goats, and cows. Helping her mom pull calves was a particularly remarkable memory. Her long-time companion and emotional support dog, chihuahua Timone, has been adopted into a forever home by the mail lady at whom he used to bark.

The scriptures indicate in 1 Corinthians 13,  that during the course of our lives, we may succeed and/or fail in many things, but the thing that counts most is our love of God and our love toward one another.  We may even fail in showing love, as there are so many things we do not see clearly, nor understand.  In that way we are like children.  However, there will come a time when we will see clearly, and will know and be known. Throughout the Bible there is a clear message that one day, all will be abundantly restored.   This was Sandra's life message and her hope.
