Sandra Lee
Ridgell
Jan 26, 1953 — Aug 1, 2023
Sandra "Sandy" Ridgell of Harper, Texas passed away at the age of 70. As a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she will be missed by numerous family and friends around the world.
Sandy was born January 26, 1953 in Norfolk, Virginia to Ralph and Florence Stachnik Dominiak. She married her true love, Paul Ridgell Sr, on March 22, 1969 in Ridge, Maryland. Paul and Sandy traveled the country together as Paul's US Navy career brought their home roots to Florida, Pennsylvania, and Louisiana. They raised two children -- Paul Ridgell Jr and Sherry Ridgell Guerrero.
Any and everyone who met Sandy knew they had met an extraordinary soul. She had a fierce love of family, an unwavering devotion to friends, and a passion for life that one couldn't help but see. While strong-willed, with a firecracker spirit, her infectious laugh and joyful heart brightened every room. If her humor couldn't fill your cup, she was sure to breakout the jumbo, lasagna, or shrimp stew to make you feel as fat as a tick with jelly and candies in hand.
Sandy had a passion for painting unique designs, growing exotic plants, and spoiling her puppies and grandkids. Each night in the Ridgell household, you'd hear Sandy yell "Domino!" as Paul and Sandy continued their never-ending game of Mexican Train Dominoes. Sandy's love for travel filled their home with several artistic pieces from around the world with a primary focus on Southwestern Native American culture.
A note for all who cared and loved her so: Don't be surprised if she pops by for a spiritual visit, as she often said she'd visit in the form of a butterfly like her mama or as one of the many hummingbirds visiting her front porch each year.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Paul Ridgell of Harper, son Paul Ridgell Jr. and wife Karly of Denham Springs LA, daughter Sherry Guerrero and husband Joseph of Harper; 5 grandchildren Joshua, Ellie, and Gabriel Ridgell, Alexa Perme and husband Steve and Kolbie Guerrero; brother Mark Dominiak and wife Nancy of Dameron, MD; nephew David Dominiak and wife Josephine.
The family will greet friends 5-6 pm Monday, August 7th, with a celebration of Sandra's life, in the chapel of Fredericksburg Funeral Home at 6 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hill Country SPCA, Harper Library, St. James Lutheran Church in Harper, or the charity of one's choice.
