Verna Mae Houy of Fredericksburg passed away on Thursday June 10, 2021 at the age of 82. She was born in Kerr county on November 9, 1938 to Werner and Adele Kuhlmann Roeder. She married Newton Houy on October 10, 1959 in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years Newton Houy, her children Sharon McMahon and husband Jim, Patricia Davis and husband Glen, Robert Houy, Deborah Weber. 5 Grandchildren Michael McMahon, Amber McMahon, Whitney Crenwelge and husband Zach, Minda Jung and husband Neil, and Bodie Houy, as well as 5 great grandchildren, Mikayla McMahon, Ava McMahon, Lincoln Crenwelge, Zoey Crenwelge, and Lane Jung.

Graveside service will take place on Monday June 14 at 11:00 am in the Family Chapel of Greenwood Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00am-11:00am prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice or the charity of one's choice.
