Wally Earl Hannum of Cibolo, Texas, passed away on January 29, 2025, at the age of 65. He was born on December 21, 1959 in Fredericksburg, Texas, to Frank Wilbur and Helen Dorothy Kothe Hannum.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Hannum of Cibolo; brothers Bill Hannum and wife Irene of Hawkins, Glenn Hannum and wife Margaret of Cherry Spring; nieces Kristy Geistweidt and husband Wade, Megan Coats and husband Jonathan; nephews Michael Boatright and wife Tahra, Michael Marlow and partner Dominique, Daniel Harris and partner Jessica; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Helen Hannum, nephews Craig Hannum and Matthew Boatright.

Wally loved cars. During high school, he and his friends could be found dragging Main or hitting the back roads. He also enjoyed repairing and selling vehicles. After attending Texas State Texas Institute in Waco, he pursued vehicle body work in New Braunfels and San Antonio. He was also involved as a vehicle damage appraiser.  After a few years of doing that, he began selling vehicles and continued to do so until 2023. His days were filled visiting with customers and making friends. During that time, he received numerous awards and received national recognition in sales and management. He and his sales teams enjoyed attending these ceremonies in Detroit and Chicago.

In 1984, he sold a car to Karen and started their lives together. They married on March 31, 2013.  They enjoyed their family of Chocolate Labs and Rat Terriers over the years, including their current dogs Zola Mae and Czrina. They traveled to attend many concerts, especially those of the Zac Brown Band and Kenny Chesney. Wally especially enjoyed spending time with his late nephew, Craig.  He appreciated Ford and John Deere items. He was proud of his John Deere themed Bronco that he someday wanted to give to his great nephew, Gage.

The gravesite service will be at the Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery in Cherry Spring on Wednesday, February 12th beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Scott Hofmann officiating. Fellowship and refreshments will follow in the Parish Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
